World Health Organization
Topic A: Diabetes control and prevention across the world in relation to regulating the food industry and health campaigns.
The World Health Organization (WHO) is a UN agency leading global efforts to improve public health. It provides expertise, research, and guidance on diseases, healthcare systems, and health emergencies, promoting universal access to healthcare and advancing global well-being. At BISH MUN, delegates will be focusing on diabetes control and prevention across the world in relation to regulating the food industry and health campaigns. About 10.5% of the global adult population suffered from diabetes in 2021. This is an alarming number, but this is not the end. These rates are expected to increase at a rapid rate due to the poor regulation of the food industry. Measures need to be taken to ensure that the global food industry is regulated, so that consumers make healthier choices.
